How I Write a Custom Song

If a song was a conversation.

Think of a song as a meaningful conversation you never want to end.

  1. Verses tell the backstory. They unfold the details, the subtle tensions, the emotional path that got you here. Verses are the winding road through memories, setting the scene so the heart of the song lands even harder.

  2. The chorus is the heart of the song. It's feeling you keep coming back to. The part everyone sings along to. The chorus is what matters most, the emotional core that sticks long after the song fades.

  3. The bridge creates a quiet pause. Like the breath before admitting something deep or vulnerable. It shifts perspective, refreshes the energy, and lets you dive back into the final chorus with new weight.

We always start with your story.

Every lyric grows from the real details you share. It’s the challenge you overcame, the relationship that time couldn't break, the commitment that beat the odds. Those specific moments inspire lines that feel authentic and irreplaceable.

I build the chorus first.

The chorus is what people remember and sing long after the song ends.

I start here to find the emotional heartbeat of your story, the part that hits hardest. It carries the deepest meaning and guides everything else.

And create the (ever) melody.

You choose two key details to make sure the song feels right:

  • Genre

    • Singer-songwriter: Stripped-back and acoustic-driven. Think: cozy fireside vibes.

    • Acoustic pop: Added instrumental elements that contribute to more of a pop vibe. Think: catchy radio song.

  • Tempo (the song’s speed)

    • Up-tempo: Energetic and uplifting, great for clapping along or celebrating.

    • Mid-tempo: Balanced and easy, the kind of track you play on repeat without tiring (most popular).

    • Slow-tempo: Relaxed, more romantic and emotional, letting feelings sink in deep.

Then I’ll build 2 (sometimes 3) verses.

The verses build toward the chorus, tracing the journey step by step. All packages include 2 verses for a complete story arc.

For even more depth, add a 3rd verse (optional upgrade).

This extra layer shines a light on strengths, merits, and intimate details you cherish most. It's the perfect spot to celebrate what makes your person extraordinary, adding warmth that lingers.

Finally, the bridge.

I use the bridge to look forward.

The past holds beautiful memories, but the bridge opens the door to endless possibility.
